Patient Participation Group

Chalgrove & Watlington Surgeries has a Patient Participation Group (PPG) who work to discuss the services on offer at the Surgeries and how improvements can benefit patients and the practice. The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG and your PPG meets regularly with the manager and is in contact with the Surgery team. The PPG is open to all patients at the Surgery who are over 16 years of age.

Contact the PPG

If you have a question that you wish to raise about any part of the Surgery’s service, or about the PPG, please email: [email protected]

This email address is for queries that relate to the PPG and not for clinical matters relating to appointments, medical treatment, prescriptions etc. However, we are interested in your views on healthcare provision at the Surgery.

PPG meetings and communication

  • PPG meetings take place and these include PPG steering group meetings (several times a year), talks by members of the Surgery team and from external speakers to patients.
  • The PPG is also represented on the South Oxfordshire Patient Alliance (SOPA). SOPA includes 20 PPGs. At these meetings information is exchanged between the PPGs as to how their Practices and PPGs operate and representatives are briefed by the Clinical Lead on health and social care matters affecting patients in the county. Healthwatch Oxfordshire is also represented. Information from SOPA meetings is communicated to our PPG members.
  • The PPG provide input to editorial that is submitted on a monthly basis to local publications, The Watlington Times and The Link, for their Surgery/healthcare pages.
What is the Virtual PPG?

Don’t have time to come to meetings?

Do you have ideas about how to improve the Practice?

Then join our ‘Virtual Patient Participation Group’.

We realise that many patients are unable to attend meetings due to pressure from work, family or studies, but may want to have a say in what we do. We need – and value – the input from all patients, especially those who are busy, or with children, or who care for someone. If you join our ‘virtual group’ we will keep in touch by email, or telephone, and you can still play an important role in our PPG.
