In light of the COVID-19 situation, appointment management at the Chiltern & The Brook Surgeries will be as described below so that we can provide as safe a service as possible to our patients and staff. You should only physically attend the surgery if you absolutely have to/when asked to by the Doctor. Please wear a face covering if you are able to. Please complete a Lateral Flow Test before coming into the building (we can provide one if you do not have any – just press the intercom and we will bring one to you).

When calling to book an appointment with one of our Doctors, you may be offered a telephone consultation or be referred to one of our other clinicians, (Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Practice Nurse) depending on the nature of your ailment. The Doctor will call you at the approximate time of your appointment on the telephone number provided. If, after the telephone consultation, the Doctor decides that you need to be seen, they will advise you on what to do next and which surgery to attend if they deem it necessary for you to come to the surgery to be assessed.

Appointments can be made with one of our Nursing Team for dressings, vaccines that are included on the national immunisation programme and cervical screening. Health Care Assistants are doing blood tests and ECGs as medically required at either Surgery.

Patients who have appointments with a Practice Nurse and/or a Health Care Assistant are able to come into the Surgery and check themselves in via the touch screen. Please use the hand sanitisation facilities in the corridor, then check in and sit on the socially positioned chairs in the waiting room.

Please place prescription requests in the post box outside or urine sample in the box provided in the foyer. Please telephone or press the intercom for anything else.

If you have respiratory and/or coronavirus symptoms, please do NOT attend the surgery, but contact NHS 111 online or, if you don’t have access to the internet, by telephone. We cannot provide testing and you do not need a letter from your GP for your employer.

Do not go to your GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital if you think you may have coronavirus or any symptoms of coronavirus. Stay indoors and avoid close contact with other people.

Visit 111 Online for advice or call 111 if you need to speak with someone regarding your condition.

All visitors to the surgeries will be required to wear face coverings/masks (unless medically exempt).

Click here for information about face masks available in Watlington.

Please be aware that there are times during the normal working week when only one Surgery is open. If you telephone a Surgery and it is closed the telephone system will automatically take you to the surgery that is open. Appointment requests and enquiries can be directed to either Surgery.

You can request repeat prescriptions online at anytime via Patient Access, once you have registered for the service. Click here for more information.
